1 Of My Favorite Brands: BORDERS

Borders is one of my most favorite places to spend a rainy afternoon.  My son and I love to spend our tim browsing the various sections of books and educational materials available.  On our latest visit, I was delighted to see I could actually purchase all of my Mother's Day presents in one location.  My entire family loves to read.  We regularly mail our favorite reads across the states to one another.  At the present time, I'm in the process of building a library in my home of all of my favorite books as a child as well as a collection of my favorite biographies.  As my son becomes an avid reader, my goal is to build his very own library of his favorites to enable him to personalize his own collection.

As a Borders Rewards member, I save on every single purchase which makes my shopping experience and even more enjoyable one.  In a world of every increasing downloading mania, I can always find a hidden treasure that I have been unable to find anywhere else.  Borders regularly research consumer demands to stay current on ever demanding needs of their customers.  My current demand are educational materials to prepare for the 1st grade.  Who knew that researching options for grammer school would be more difficult than when I was preparing form my college entrance exams.

Thank goodness Borders is there to help me every step of the way.

Could An Obsession Become A Profession?

Surfing the Internet has become somewhat of an obsession for me.  I visit an average of 25 to 50 sites a day.  I guess I can say it has become more routine than an actual obsession.  My hobby began when I was required to research media coverage for various companies and their products in preparation for trial.  One link led to another and the rest is history.

My surfing is not defined by any particular subject matter in any way.  My "routine" usually begins by surfing various news outlets to stay up to date on my current events or to simply scan the daily headline pages.  Next, I normally browse around the nation to catch up on various court cases that I have been following.  These cases would include ones that I have assisted in preparing or other law firms that are involved in similar issues.  As a volunteer for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) in Cook County, many of the cases I research involve the abuse & neglect of children.  There is nothing more gratifying to me than seeing justice served for a defenseless child.

After my "serious" surfing session, I usually browse the various entertainment & music sites. I like to see the current "must have" fashions, new music, where the hot parties are being thrown & pics of my favorite celebs on their insanely expensive and exotic vacations.  Jealous much?  Of course.  Most of this time is also spent posting to several blogs and networking sites that I have reluctantly become a member of but eventually became one of my various online homes.  It is during this time that I have realized that many of my online friends have capitalized on their surfing obsession through various advertisers that utilize their blog space.  These individual have carved out a nice little living by posting their own opinions, as well as those of others, simply by adding "catchy" little titles, celebrity pics, gossip columns, new music links and plethora of other everyday information to their blog space.

How fortunate it would be to be compensated for routinely surfing the net and sharing the information you find with others with similar interests.  I have researched what advertisers offer to utilize the more popular blog sites and I have to admit that I am definitely considering a career change.
